HOW TO GET YOUR PRODUCT CERTIFIED

ASSE certified products are tested by qualified laboratories to strict performance requirements of product standards, and certified in a manner that is impartial, balanced, informed, and rigorous. Companies interested in having their products certified by ASSE International in the U.S. and/or Canadian markets should follow the steps below.

1. Review Scheme

Review the ASSE Certification Scheme

2. Determine Appropriate Standard

Determine what product performance standard is applicable to your product

3. Submit Product for Testing

Submit your product for testing to an ASSE Approved Testing Laboratory (view Laboratory Evaluation Report Forms)

4. Submit Evaluation Report to ASSE

After completion of testing, instruct the laboratory to submit an original copy of the applicable test report to ASSE International

5. Submit Application and Contract to ASSE

Submit a completed Product Listing Application and Contract (PLAC) and fee to ASSE International

6. Application Review and Balloted

Upon receipt of that application at ASSE International, the application will be:

  • Evaluated for completeness.
  • Reviewed by the technical staff for technical completeness and compliance.

Ballot periods:

  • ACCELERATED: five business days
  • REGULAR: 21 calendar days
7. Decision Notification

Notification of the decision for product listing will be forwarded to you within five (5) business days after the close of the ballot period
