ASSE New York chapter
President Dominick Agostino’s Message - May 2010Dear Members and Guests:
Dear Members & Guests: Now that Health Care Reform has passed, what will that mean for the Plumbing industry? We should ask ourselves the question, could this affect us professionally as engineers, contractors, manufacturers and sales involved in the health care field? Will it mean expansion of health facilities will follow? Let’s hope that good things will come out of this major shift in government. When that day should come, we’ll be prepared because ASSE & ASPE societies has the good fortune to have at our next engineering society meeting on Wednesday, May 5th, Mr. Mark Allen of Beacon Medaes, he will be speaking on “Energy Saving Technologies for Medical Air & Vacuum Systems”. If you ever attended Mr. Allen’s presentation, you know that this is a “Must See”. You’ll walk away with some useful information that can be beneficial for you next project.
How great is to come to our meetings, socialize with your peers, get fed and learn something useful about our plumbing industry. ASSE New York chapter encourages you attend our meetings and get involved in our organization.
We want to acknowledge Derek Smith and Gerry Barracca with Beacon Medaes/Sherman Engineering company for their support and being instrumental in getting our speaker and sponsoring the meeting as well. Please make an effort to stop by their literature table and see what’s new and get updated.
Gaetano DiPietro and Genny Rodriguez continue to do a fine job with our newsletter. We’re kicking around a new feature that allows our readers to ask Plumbing or Fire Protection questions that need answers. Our working title is “Ask DiPietro”, so please forward your questions to NYCplumbingquestion@gmail.com and if we choose your question, we’ll feature it in our next issue.
Let me close with thanking last month’s speaker, Michael DiPaolo of Regasol USA for putting on an engaging presentation. See inside this issue for the presentation minutes. We want to equally thank David Kassemeyer with Leonard Powers for making it all happen including our sponsors Paradigma & LPI Controls. We had a great turnout and got a lot of positive feedback.
We maintain our commitment to support our society members as best we can in delivering on our promise to provide you with quality presentations and technical assistance.
