ASSE President
PRESIDENT'S WELCOME MESSAGE
I am excited to personally welcome each of you to this year's ASSE International Annual Meeting in beautiful Colorado Springs — home of the United States Air Force Academy. Captain Lance P. Sijan of the United States Air Force, who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his service to our great nation, grew up in the same neighborhood as me — Bay View, Wisconsin, a community on Milwaukee’s south side. Lance was a classmate of my mother's and I learned of his heroic story when I was young. I hope all of you have the time to tour the Academy and learn about Lance, his uncommon courage, and his dedication to his fellow comrades.
It’s always an honor to come together with professionals who take such pride in their work and the responsibility they carry every day. Whether you’ve been involved with ASSE for years or this is your first meeting, you’ve committed to doing things the right way. You've committed to strengthening standards, protecting the public, and supporting one another. I encourage you to attend as many meetings as you can, make connections with others, and share your experiences. Take in everything that ASSE has to offer — your participation is crucial to the growth and success of our organization. On behalf of ASSE's Board of Directors and Officers, I thank you for your participation.
